It was a rainy-ish kinda day and we arrived early for lunch because this place is always been packed. The last time we tried to come here we couldn’t get a table. So this time I wasn’t going to take a chance, we were there right at 1130, no lie.

An old lady beat us to the door and almost hit our car while she was parking, yes we are in richmond after all. I was a tad worried at that moment but she was only going the wrong way of traffic and well wasn’t really looking at how her mercedes was moving but its exciting!!!
We got a table!!!! And believe it or not this placed filled up in the span of 20mins……I liked the old Vogue that used to be here and I miss that type of cuisine.
Nothing really special on the menu in my opinion, this place is just like Cattle Cafe which you can find everywhere and the service here was short and abrupt. We both got a tick sheet to place our order of choice and off we went. I just got an Iced Lemon Tea and Colleen got her HK Style Coffee….average at best.
The laksa soup was ok, not as good as Cattle Cafe but then again some would argue about the amount of msg and so on, I couldn’t care less, everyone complains about everything.
I went with the Chinese Sausage on Rice. Why so little Marv? You asked? I wasn’t that hungry and I was hoping for some roasted pork on rice to go from the butcher shop just down a few stores hahahahaa…..this was a typical dish, you can’t really screw this up. Well, unless you under cook the rice but then I figured they would have just scooped the rice from a rice cooker and add on top the sausage and veg. Nothing special.
Overall, after lunch we went over to Pearl Castle next door and Colleen had some sort of ice mix and I had a hotpot of pork with bubbletea, way better service and meal altogether. Deer garden wasn’t worth the visit and we haven’t gone back since.
