I’ve been wanting to try out Chutney Villa for awhile, and unfortunately haven’t been able to find the time. Finally we’re here! We made it a point to come after work one day, despite being tired and mulling around in traffic, we’re here!
I started off my meal with a Chai Tea. I loved it here! Part of the reason might be because it’s served in a metal cup(I love cups in general), but it had a nice blend of spice and cream. I wanted another!
This dish definitely caught my eye on the menu. Aachi Varuval, it was cauliflower fried in a crunchy, peppery rice and lentil batter. Un-be-lievable! I loved this dish! From the moment it arrived, I couldn’t get enough. The crisp was there, the flavour was there. Loved it! I just realized I didn’t get a shot of their chutney! There was 4 different flavours of chutney that were brought to our table. If you want more, they will glady come and refill your favourites for you.
To the left we have the Chicken Kurma. And to the right is the Lamb. We found each to be quite flavourful. I ordered mild and Marv went with Medium. Let me tell you, medium is pretty darn spicy! I’d hate to taste what HOT is like.
Overall, service is friendly and prompt, refills are done quickly. The booths are a bit tight, and the restaurant was dreadfully hot when we walked in. I started sweating bullets when we were being led to our seat. If you’re in the area, definitely give Chutney Villa a try. And make sure you try the Aachi Varuval! 🙂
